Dental health concerns When it comes down to our oral health care we all have our minor concerns. In addition, we all have some myths that we heard over and over again and need a little help with clarification. We picked our favorite four health concerns we’d like to touch on.
1. Gum. We all love our chewing gum. Some say it’s bad for you, but we seem to chew anyways. If you do chew, try getting in the habit of chewing sugar-free gum. The act of chewing gum is actually good for you and helps stimulates your saliva.
2. How often should we go visit our dentist? That’s simple. Although you might not have any problems or concerns, you should be seeing the dentist between 2-4 times a year.
3. Bleeding gums. No, this is not normal. Yes, you should go see your dentist. When your gums are bleeding, they are telling you something isn’t right. Don’t avoid your gums.
4. Dental insurance. Depending on what type of dental insurance you have, your coverage will vary. Normally, your coverage covers a portion of your dental costs. Call your dentist’s office ahead of time and be prepared.
