Must-do’s for Extraordinary Oral Health Care
What does your daily oral health care regimen consist of? Do you brush your teeth just once? Do you brush twice? Do you floss daily? Don’t stress! Everyone has their own routines that they live by. We just want to help ensure you are practicing great oral hygiene. Of course, we all brush our teeth, but doing more and being consistent will help us keep our sparkling smile. Oral health care is more than just ensuring that we are correctly brushing our teeth. Oral health is knowing how to protect our teeth from bacteria, plaque, cavities, gum disease, and other things that all affect our oral hygiene.
- Do ensure that you have the correct toothbrush. Whether it’s a manual or electric, make sure you choose one that is effective for your teeth. Also, be sure to change out your toothbrush every 3 months.
- Do remember that all surfaces of your teeth are important. Don’t just focus on the front, go all the way back to your wisdom teeth and give each tooth attention.
- Do give some attention to your tongue. Brushing your tongue is essential because bacteria can get stuck there, which leads to halitosis (bad breath).
- Do have a clear understanding of the importance of flossing. When you don’t floss daily, you are allowing bacteria to live in between your teeth, which causes tooth decay and bad breath.
